What is Salvation?

Salvation (sal·va·tion /salˈvāSH(ə)n/) means deliverance or preservation from harm, ruin, or loss. In Christian theology, it refers to deliverance from sin and its consequences through faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation represents protection, victory, and spiritual preservation. At times, the Bible also refers to salvation in a temporal sense, such as physical deliverance, exemplified in Paul’s rescue from prison:
“For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:19
Salvation is both a spiritual and life-transforming experience, offering freedom, hope, and eternal life for those who believe.

Prayers for Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God it comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Prayers are a way to express repentance and faith, but it’s the sincere belief in your heart that matters most—God knows your heart. You can personalize these prayers with your own words and feelings.

If you have prayed sincerely, consider noting the date as a reminder of your commitment. According to the Bible, you are now saved and connected to the Living God—you are a new creation.

Prayer #1 (Basic Prayer):

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.

Prayer #2 (Personal Prayer):

Dear Lord Jesus, I am calling upon Your name. I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God. I believe You were raised from the dead for my salvation. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and save me. Cleanse me from all my sins. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me peace. Make me Your child and show me Your ways. I choose to walk with You all the days of my life from this moment forward. Thank You for hearing my prayer, Lord Jesus. Amen.
